NZ Curry House | Malaysia
Have you heard of this restaurant name in Kuala Lumpur called NZ Curry House? My first impression from the name, this restaurant should be selling curry dishes. And the NZ could be from New Zealand? Just an assumption of guessing from the name itself. I first notice bout this restaurant when I roam around the famous KLCC twin tower area. It is located at the side way facing directly the twin tower. Can be quite hidden if you are not familiar with the area. But you will not get lost. Google map is always there to assist you.
I like the environment where it is spacious and various type of food. This restaurant sells typical Indian Muslim food where by you can get from rice to fried items. Malaysian loves to eat this type of food. Pricing wise, it is not that expensive. For those who does not like cafe type of vibe, can try to hang out at this area. Upon googling, there are few branches operating around Klang valley. You can try to google NZ Curry House to check out the branch near you.
Roti Canai |
The picture above is the most typical menu that most Malaysian ordered. It is call Roti Canai or some in the Singapore call it Roti Prata. Roti means bread. There are variety of Roti that you may order. The picture here is the basic which does not have any toppings inside. You may order Roti Telur which is egg, Roti Pisang which is banana, Roti Sardin which is sardine fish, or you may also try the Roti Banjir which means they pour the gravy on top of your flatten bread. The gravy comes in dhal or some people they prefer to eat it with fish or chicken curry.
Puri |
Next, you can see above is call Puri. Some spell it as Poori. Both are the same. It is actually fried bread made from wheat flour. There usually service with smash potatoes or some places may serve with dhal. It is very fluffy when it is served. I am not sure why they usually serve you two Puri instead of one. Both food sample are not that heavy and most important the price is very cheap and quite filling. The basic Roti Canai cost you $1.50 (MYR) while this Puri cost just $2.50 (MYR). Places like stalls may sell even cheaper than this restaurant.
Both meal goes well with hot cup of tea of coffee. We usually call it Teh Tarik or Kopi Tarik. The best time to have it will be during breakfast or tea time. Comment down below what is your favorite food when you visit this kind of place. Or suggest the menu for me to try out next time.
